The Work Programme sets out the Commission’s plans for the 12 months ahead. It identifies actions which will make a positive difference for jobs, growth and investment in 2015.
The Work Programme concentrates on a limited set of concrete initiatives – only where EU action is more effective – such as:
- > € 315 billion Investment Offensive
- > An ambitious Digital Single Market package
- > Creating a European Energy Union
- > A New Policy on Migration
- > A Fair Taxation Environment
Cutting Red Tape
When laws are no longer fit for purpose, or impose too much burden, they will be reviewed and amended to make EU law lighter, simpler and less costly.
Clearing the decks
A number of pending legislative proposals from previous Commissions will be withdrawn or modified. Some do not match the new Commission’s political priorities. In other cases, the Commission remains committed to the objectives but will propose new, better ways of achieving them.
